OUTCAST
A pan cooked disk of bread a crude sun
a shanty of light catching unstaunched tears
She is to wear white the shroud of widows

Very pleased to say this micropoem is published at Right Now - Human Rights in Australia as part of their focus on Arts and Human Rights. Go to the Creative Works section for more poetry (by Ben Hession, William Pitt, Greg Pritchard and Les Wicks), articles and creative non-fiction. There are a number of pieces about asylum seekers which may be of interest. Meanwhile I’ve bookmarked Artistic Dreaming: Women on Art and Empowerment in La Perouse by Jacqui Fetchet to read this evening.
Forthcoming themes are 'Australia in the World' and 'Homelessness.' Submit - you'll get a very prompt response.
[Apologies if this post is hard to read - strange things beyond my control.]
