MARKING TIME - POEMS

MARKING TIME
Everyone I see
at the hospital café
I see today
at the shopping plaza

Everyone I see
at the plaza today
I see tonight
back at the café

they queue silver-grey
the standard petals of an iris
the last a purple fall

CHANGE
The café has changed hands
they shout numbers at us
A Bingo hall with no prizes

our tired heads more tired
