POETRY TO RATTLE

If you go to Rattle  you’ll see the finalists from the 2012 Rattle Poetry Prize beginning with Lytton Bell’s Jane’s Heartbreak Yard Sale which I love. The winner of the $5000 prize was Heidi Shuler - I think that poem will appear in the next issue of the print journal.

You have until July 15 to enter this year’s Prize – it’s open to poets worldwide. Ten finalists receive $100 each plus a chance to win the $1000 Readers’ Choice Award.

Meanwhile the journal itself is calling for submissions. You have until October 15 to submit poems any length, any style, including love poems for the tribute section. (The tribute theme changes issue to issue.) They’re interested in diversity and suggest reading previous Rattle issues to see what they’re missing. Some are archived online and of course you can subscribe. All submissions are in the running for the annual $500 Neil Postman Award for Metaphor.
