Birds - Canberra

Garema Place in the centre of Canberra has its own community of birds - ravens, pigeons, magpies. It's interesting to observe them in such a contained urban/city area as they go about their day individually or in mobs, trotting alongside workers at lunchtime or taking over the designer seats or the public artworks. I spent a couple of hours last week taking photos for two projects involving birds. Happened to be there early enough for feeding time - seed for the pigeons (and the bossy ravens) from one man and mince for the magpies from another - all pavers pavers pointed out the latter who can ill-afford his fortnightly charitable act.
