The hunt

I remember being captivated by the poetry of Tomaz Salamun at the Adelaide Writers Week some years ago. His images are potent. He says: "The poet is a hunter, not an expressor … you express what you already have. The inexpressible is like the beast in the woods that the hunter always knows only by its tracks.” (Salamun in Jackson 2006). Personally I think it’s often like being a tow truck driver – first on the scene etc etc :)
