North of Ireland; USA

For what's new in poetry in the North of Ireland see the anthology The New North: Contemporary Poetry from Northern Ireland (ed. Chris Agee, Wake Forest University Press, 2008). Poems by established authors introduce featured poets born 1956-75. This was published as part of an exchange program with the US. The companion anthology is New Voices: Contemporary Poetry from the United States (Irish Pages). I attended the Belfast launch and recall the comment that older Irish poets had tended to focus on Northern Ireland, the Troubles etc while this age group was looking out into the wider world. Both volumes are in a pile I brought back that am gradually getting through. Joy.
